Description

This is an UNO bot designed for the Discord chat platform. The intent of this bot is to provide a fun and fulfilling UNO experience with your friends!

Configurable Rules

One of the features of UNO is configurable rules, to make sure your games are as customizable as possible! You can view these using the command.

To set, the creator of the game has to run the command: .

Current rules:

Decks

Key: Type: integer Default: 1

This is the number of decks to use in the game.

Initial Cards

Key: Type: integer Default: 7

This is how many cards to pick up at the beginning of the game.

Draws Skip

Key: Type: boolean Default: true

This is whether pickup cards (+2, +4) should also skip the next person's turn.

Must Play

Key: Type: boolean Default: false

This is whether a player has to play a card if they're able to, instead of drawing.

Callouts

Key: Type: boolean Default: true

This is whether other players are able to call someone out for having only one card but not saying uno!

Callout Penalty

Key: Type: integer Default: 2

This is how many cards a player has to pick up with someone successfully calls them out.

False Callout Penalty

Key: Type: integer Default: 2

This is how many cards a player has to pick up if they try to call someone out, but everyone has more then one card.

Automatically Play After Draw

Key: Type: boolean Default: false

Automatically plays a card after drawing, if possible. If a wild card is drawn, will give a prompt for color.

Selfhosting

You may selfhost (AKA run your own instance of) this bot under the following circumstances:

  • Your instance (referred to as a "clone") must be private.
    • As such, your clone must not be listed on any sort of public bot listing.
  • You understand that no support will be provided to aid you in self-hosting.
  • You agree to not submit any issues, features, or pull requests related to bugs exclusively related to self-hosting.

UNO Bot

Follow these steps:

1. Add this bot to a group
2. In the group, start a new game with /new or join an already running game with /join
3. After at least two players have joined, start the game with /start
4. Type @unobot into your chat box and hit space, or click the via @unobot text next to messages. You will see your cards (some greyed out), any extra options like drawing, and a ? to see the current game state. The greyed out cards are those you can not play at the moment. Tap an option to execute the selected action.
Players can join the game at any time. To leave a game, use /leave. If a player takes more than 90 seconds to play, you can use /skip to skip that player. Use /notify_me to receive a private message when a new game is started.

Language and other settings: /settings
Other commands (only game creator):
/close - Close lobby
/open - Open lobby
/kill - Terminate the game
/kick - Select a player to kick by replying to him or her
/enable_translations - Translate relevant texts into all languages spoken in a game
/disable_translations - Use English for those texts

Experimental: Play in multiple groups at the same time. Press the Current game: ... button and select the group you want to play a card in.

UnoBot Commands Prefix: 

 

UnoBot allows discord servers to play entire games of the popular cardgame, Uno, completely within text-channels. Challenge your friends and climb the leaderboard!

Invite UnoBot

Commands

u!startgame

Start a game of Uno.

Description

Start a game of Uno. Play with those mentioned in the message. Players can play their cards in their auto-created uno channels.

Usage

u!startgame <list of @user mentions> (game settings)

Note

You must have at least 2 players to start a game, bots do not count.

Tips

  • Use u!settings dgs list to get a list of the game settings.
  • You can use and change the default game settings from the settings command.

Examples

  • startgame @Exium @Walewegee
  • startgame @Exium @Walewegee spectateGame, drawUntilMatch

 

u!play

Plays a card in an Uno game.

Description

Plays a card in an Uno game.

Usage

u!play <color of card> <number of card | type of card>

Note

You must be in your uno-channel to play a card.

Tips

  • The prefix is not required while in an uno-channel.
  • You can use the first letter of the color instead of the whole word.

Examples

  • u!play red 2
  • p green wilddraw4
  • y +2

 

u!draw

Draw a card in an Uno game.

Description

Draws a card from the deck in an Uno game.

Usage

u!draw

Note

You must be in your uno-channel to play a card.

Tip

The prefix is not required while in an uno-channel.

Tells you the cards you have and the current card.

Description

Sends a message to the other uno-channels.

Description

Note

You must be in your uno-channel to use this command.

Tip

You can auto send your messages without a command using u!options autosay on

Example

  • u!say I thought you were supposed to be good?
  • u!s @Walewegee Reverse it and you won’t get +4’ed.

 

u!alert

Alerts the player who is playing a card.

Description

Alerts the player who is playing a card.

Usage

u!alert

Tip

You can disable receiving alerts with u!options allowalerts off

u!endgame

End a game of Uno.

Description

Ends the ongoing Uno game.

Usage

u!endgame

Note

Only the game creator, admins, and whitelisted roles from the settings can use this.

Join an ongoing Uno game.

Description

Lets you join the ongoing Uno game.

Usage

u!joingame

Note

You can’t join a game if you have been kicked from it.

When prompted, you will have to confirm the new prefix by typing “CONFIRM” in all caps.

Turns a specific command on or off.

Set Cooldown

Sets a cooldown for using a specific command.

Whitelist or Blacklist

Whitelist or blacklist certain roles or users from using a command. Also toggles between whitelist or blacklist modes.

u!settings commands <command name> [whitelist|blacklist] [add|remove|enable|disable|view] <user|role>

View Command Info

Gives you info on a specific command’s settings.

u!settings commands <command name> view

 

u!settings dgs

Changes the default game settings.

Description

Changes the default game settings, which are applied to every game that does not have custom game settings.

Add & Remove Default Game Settings

Add game settings that are automatically applied to a game.

u!settings dgs [add|remove] <game setting>

View Default Game Settings

View the default game settings.

u!settings dgs view (game setting)

 

u!settings reset

Resets all custom prefixes, command settings, and server stats.

Description

Resets all custom prefixes, command settings, and server stats.

Note

Please be aware: settings including custom prefixes, command settings, server stats, and ongoing games will be lost.
