Mattel launch BTS Mini Dolls and they’re so cute we want them all
We’re suckers for BTS merch, and their latest project could be the band’s cutest yet.
Mattel has confirmed their second collaboration with the K-pop superstars following their full-size BTS doll collection, and the boys are getting downsized.
The company has announced their range of BTS Mini Dolls, with RM, Jimin, Jungkook, V, J-Hope, Jin and Suga each getting their own miniature figurine.
And needless to say, we want them all.
An adorable trailer for House of BTS showed the animated dolls performing Idol, with ‘V’ taking a tumble at the end as the others giggled away.
Now, Mattel has confirmed that the dolls will soon be available for $9.99 (£7.63) each.
The dolls all have their own quirky style – V is rocking two-tone hair and a heart-dotted shirt; RM looks cool with blue hair and a cardigan; Suga is wearing ripped jeans and a jumper with an apple on the front; J-Hope is rocking glasses and a bunny sweater; Jin is all suited u[; Jimin is wearing a cap and a sporty sweater; and Jungkook has red hair and his initials on a t-shirt.
The dolls will be available globally, while giant models of the dolls have been displayed at the House of BTS in Seoul.
And some of the band dropped by to pose with their plastic selves, with Jimin taking a selfie with his own doll and J-Hope taking a group shot.
The House of BTS opened in Gangnam on 18 October and will be open until 5 January, with lucky shoppers able to buy 200 types of merchandise.
Ouch, our bank accounts.
To keep the ARMY coming back, new merch based on BTS’s songs will be introduced every week, while there’s numerous interactive showrooms and photo opportunities across the four-floor exhibit.
The House of BTS will also open in Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka in Japan from 23 November to 29 December.

The Mattel x BTS collaboration is getting even bigger with the launch of yet another line of BTS merchandise dedicated to the K-Pop band BTS’s global fandom, called the BTS ARMY.
Earlier this year, Mattel released its special line of BTS dolls that closely resemble the band members. They are up for purchase on retail outlets including on Amazon.com. You can buy them separately or all of them altogether at $139.99.
Another Mattel x BTS collab is the BTS-themed UNO cards. It’s no different than the original UNO card game, but instead of the traditional turn symbols, the cards show photos of BTS members. It also includes a “Dancing Wild” card, which orders the next player to either perform a BTS dance routine or draw three additional cards.
Most recently, Mattel launched its new BTS Mini Dolls featuring all the BTS boys including Jung Kook, Jin, V, RM, j-hope, SUGA and Jimin.
On Mattel’s websites, the dolls are listed as “Coming Soon,” but the toymaker already posted their price as $9.99 each.
Shortly after Mattel’s announcement, the upcoming BTS Idol Mini Dolls instantly popped up on Amazon.com. However, Amazon has yet to reveal the price of the dolls.
All we know so far is that the BTS Idol Mini Dolls measure 3-inch tall and that their outfits are inspired by the clothes they wear on their most popular music video, “Idol.”
These BTS Idol Mini Dolls have their own display base where they can stand, making for a perfect gift for any BTS fan.

BTS Fans Will Have To Wait for V and Jungkook Mini Dolls, Here's Why
Fans of international Korean pop sensation BTS will be able to purchase figurines in the likeness of each band member starting November 11—all except singers V and Jungkook, that is.
On Tuesday, Mattel unveiled its collection of made-for-desktop figurines inspired by the group's 2018 music video for the song "IDOL."
"Because who doesn't love tiny surprises?!?" the toy manufacturer wrote on the its official Twitter account, captioning a video revealing dolls for all seven members of the boy group: RM, V, Jimin, Suga, Jin, J-Hope and Jungkook. "Show your love for BTS by collecting all 7 #BTS Mini Dolls, coming soon globally," the tweet read.
However, completists wishing to nab all seven of the dolls may have to wait an extra week in order to score a full set. According to K-pop news site allkpop, Mattel is delaying the release of V and Jungkook's dolls—initially scheduled to come out with the others on November 11—due to high demand. The outlet went on to report that the miniature the Jungkook doll will join its BTS brothers in the stock of retailers including Target, newly reopened Toys "R" Us stores and Amazon, starting November 18. V, the number one seller across multiple sites according to allkpop, will debut November 19.
Disappointed fans have since taken to Twitter, particularly disturbed with what appears to be a markup in the most popular dolls' sale price on Amazon, where they are currently available for pre-order.
"Why is Jungkook's mini doll will be released late and not the same as the other members dolls?" wrote one user. "And why the cost went up from 9.99 to 17.99 USD? Care to explain? Thank you."
"Bruh the dolls are alrdy sold out on amazon AND they raised the price for Jungkook...wow," tweeted another.
Others attributed the turn of events as a testament to the singer's "impressive selling power."
As of Thursday afternoon, the price for Jungkook, Jimin and V figurines in Amazon's U.S. store was listed at $24.99, while J-Hope's likeness could be pre-ordered for $21.99. Jin, RM, and Suga were not available. The price for every member of the band is $9.99 on Mattel's website.
As Billboard noted, the three-inch dolls are the second offering to come out of a collaboration between BTS and Mattel. Earlier this year, the children's toy company announced a multi-category global licensing agreement with the boy band, introducing other "IDOL"-inspired dolls in the style of Barbie and Ken.
"BTS is a pop-culture music phenomenon that transcends age, culture and language, and through this partnership Mattel will offer a new way for millions across the world to engage with the band," said Sejal Shah Miller, a senior vice president at Mattel, in a statement back in January. "Partnering with established franchises that have global appeal is a cornerstone of our strategy and given our creative expertise, we are perfectly suited to create products celebrating BTS."
Correction: Earlier reporting for this story indicated that the Jungkook mini doll was the best selling of the set. In actuality, the V mini doll appears to be the top seller as of October 25.

Mattel’s BTS toy line has just gotten bigger and cuter.
The toy maker and the South Korean boy band announced their newest collaboration on Tuesday: the BTS Mini Dolls.
The BTS Mini Dolls are a collection of seven 3-inch figurines in the likeness of BTS members V, Jin, RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jungkook, and Jimin. Described as “adorable recreations” of the Princes of Pop, the mini dolls are dressed in outfits inspired by the band members’ iconic look from their Idol music video. Each figurine can be displayed standing up on a base that bears the name of the K-pop artist.
These mini dolls are sold separately for $9.99 each, so that’s around $69 for all seven figurines. The entire collection is now available on Amazon.

A few days before the BTS Mini Dolls were launched, BANGTANTV, the official YouTube channel of BTS, dropped a minute-long video that features animated versions of the BTS Mini Dolls.
Additionally, based on a number of photos uploaded on the official BTS Twitter account, statue versions of the mini dolls are displayed inside the House of BTS, the BTS-themed pop-up store in Seoul that opened last October 18th and will run until January 5th, 2020.
The BTS Mini Dolls are the third merchandise released by Mattel under its ongoing collaboration with the boy band. Earlier this year, Mattel unveiled the BTS fashion dolls and the BTS-themed UNO cards.
Selling for $19.99 each, the BTS fashion dolls are wearing mini versions of the bright-colored patterned suits worn by Bangtan Boys in their Idol music video. The $5.99 BTS UNO cards, meanwhile, has the same rules as the standard game, but it includes an extra rule card called Dancing Wild.
